Our attention has been drawn to retracting remarks made by a Commissioner with regards to government's impending failed attempts to tarnish and demolish not just the Kofar Nasarawa iconic flyover but the enormous achievement of HE Engr Dr. Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso's administration.
Face with statewide condemnation, following a viral radio broadcast of the commissioner, where he was heard, in a tone only befitting of a pompous and jealous child making spurious allegations against the quality and integrity of the Kofar Nassarawa and the government's plan to demolish the symbolic structure, the commissioner was yet again heard on Freedom Radio's Barka da Hantsi making attempts to retract his earlier statement.
The commissioner accused the entire Kano populace of low comprehension skills, in that he was massively misunderstood in his earlier statement. He went further to explain that because of annual budget his government does specially for defects on the flyover, specifically the stagnation of water, the Government is this time around prepared to solve the defects.
These ridiculous assertions must not go unchallenged and for such reason we simply beg the commissioners indulgence in asking some basic question we have:
The Kofar Nassarawa Flyover Bridge is a flyover that stands meters long above ground level with 80 Years guarantee given by TEC Engineering Company. The question here is where and when has the commissioner or anyone ever seen the case of water stagnation on a flyover bridge?
Ordinarily, the commissioner should forever shy away from discussing anything that relates water stagnation on roads, and this is by virtue of his Government's long standing unfortunate record in that regard. The people of Kano annually bear the brunt of unprofessional construction of Panshekara, Zoo road and Bukavu Barrack's underpasses. The underpasses are usually safe havens for aqua creatures as they become flooded with water whenever the raining season kicks off. Properties have been lost and residents continually inconvenienced.
The only logical explanation for why anybody could say the Kofar Nassarawa Flyover Bridge retains stagnant water must be them plying the flyover in an unconscious state and believing they are plying the Panshekara or Bukavu Barrack's underpasses. This is because these are currently, the only road structures synonymous with stagnation of water in the state.
Therefore, the shameless attempt to demolish the Kofar Nassarawa flyover is uncalled for, rather it would have been better if the government attempt to reinvigorate other bogus projects carried out by their administration as seen below.
