It was yet another tragic blow as I woke up this morning to the news of the death of another patriarch and traditional ruler, Alh. Musa Saleh Kwankwaso (Majidadin Kano), the father of my brother, Sen. Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso.
An exemplary traditional ruler and astute father-figure who preached peace at all times, the nonagenerian contributed immensely to the development of Kano Emirate in his privileged capacity as Majidadin Kano.
The deceased is a devout Muslim who lived and preached the virtues of tolerance, obedience and peaceful co-existence not only in his domain but also the entire Northern region.
As we mourn his painful exit, on behalf of the government and the good people of Kano State, I sympathize with the extended family of Sen. Kwankwaso, the people and good people of Kano State as well as the Kano Emirate Council.
We pray that Allah (SWT) grant him Aljannatul Firdaus. May He (Allah SWT) give the family of the deceased the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
