Part of the official functions of the State Assemblies, National representatives at the lower or upper chamber is to legislate and enacted a law for the protection of lives and properties, welfare of the people and democracy itself. And to further checkmate the Executive Arm of Government against the acts of constitutional breach and other official crimes in office.
Kano State Government under the able leadership of Abdullahi Umar Ganduje from 2015--2019 when the mandate of Kano people was openly and shamelessly robbed and confiscated by the Buhari's APC led federal government as alleged and widely speculated in Kano and Nigeria has committed so many atrocities that are liable for impeachment, serious sanction or official reprimand from the State House of Assembly. Because Kano people are talking about the events with deep concern and disappointment.
For instance, young and promising politicians like comrade Sani Garba Fagge (Sani Aiye), Najib Abdulkadir Salati, opined that "What is happening in Kano under Ganduje government is too bad and very sad politically."
" The Sale of Kano State properties such as Triumph publishing company, Daula hotel converted by kwankwaso into Kano State Institute for Tourism, the long Historic Malam kato Square, the open destruction of Kano State pilgrim Camp, the Sale of Kano Urology Hospital, part of Sani Abacha youth Center, grave yards, spaces at juma'at mosques, eidel fitir and eidel Kabir, public school land, parks, Sports and recreational facilities were all suspected to be done under the influence of hatred and vendetta to Kano people."
This accordingly has surely formed the basis for his permanent political down fall as well as destruction of his party the APC in Kano and Nigeria.
The former Commissioner for Higher Education and former APC State party Chairman Honourable Umar Haruna Doguwa had on several occasions lampooned the members of Kano State House of Assembly on the issue of dollar video clip of Ganduje been indicted for $5,m000000 dollars bribe, the split of Kano Emirate, the persistent loan approval to the governor by the State House of Assembly.
Almost every citizen of Kano State is openly lamenting with anguish, the closure of more than 22 institutes of Security and entrepreneurship, 44 Islamic studies schools and many secondary schools include science and technical school. development established by the former Governor of Kano State Engr Dr Rabi'u Musa kwankwaso across the 44 local government areas of the State.
These institutions have succeeded in bringing to an end the activities of bandits, thuggism/ daba and drug addiction in Kano State. Governor Ganduje incredibly, with no good and convincing reasons closed down these reforming institutions established for Kano people.
Just recently, the Kano State pensioners have protested and cried foul for the constitutional breach by Ganduje government in slashing 15 percent from their pension in November and December 2020.
The Civil Servants are also nagging and grumbling, blaming the NLC for being too passive for the unjustifiable cut from their salaries by Ganduje government in addition to the compulsory State Health Insurance programme introduced against the wish of Kano State workers.
The action of Ganduje in this situation has made the general public in the State to be wondering on what is wrong with the executive arm of government in Kano State, because under normal circumstances no rational government will do what Ganduje government is doing to the people of Kano State. And
to be precise, is Kano State House of Assembly fully aware of the constitutional breach and other inhuman acts of Ganduje on Kano people?
And if they are fully aware, then what is really the problem? Are they involved in sharing the proceed as alleged? Or do they really remember that God the Supreme commander is watching them as is always cited by honourable Umar Haruna Doguwa? Or have they forgotten that Kano State people are watching them politically and are busy asking relevant question -for what are they legislating being the elected law makers from the 44 local government areas of Kano State?
